We recently hosted another successful food exchange class at the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC), where we featured one of Singapore's most beloved dishes - Hainanese Chicken Rice. The workshop brought together lecturers and selected culinary students from NPIC for a day of learning and cultural exchange.
The Cooking Demonstration

Our session began with a comprehensive introduction to the ingredients needed for this iconic dish. One advantage of being in Southeast Asia is that all the necessary herbs and spices are similar across countries and readily available in Cambodia.

The demonstration covered several key techniques:
Properly cooking the fragrant chicken rice
The correct method for boiling chicken to achieve that perfect tender texture
Preparing the essential accompanying sauces

A Special Visit

We were honored by a surprise visit from His Excellency Dr. Bun Karin, Director of the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia. Dr. Karin presented a commemorative plaque to Denise Lum, COO of Wong and Meas Restaurant Co., Ltd., and gifted traditional Cambodian kromas to each member of our team.
Building Bridges Through Food
The day was truly fulfilling as we exchanged culinary knowledge and shared Singapore's beloved Hainanese Chicken Rice with our Cambodian friends. These cultural exchanges through food create meaningful connections that transcend borders.

We're already looking forward to returning to NPIC for future collaborations and continuing this delicious journey together!
